— About Me
Hello!
I’m Abdul Bashiru Yussif, a visual designer specializing in Interaction Design, Motion Design, and Web Development. I’m currently pursuing an MFA in Visual Communication and Design at Jacksonville State University, where I focus on Interaction Design, exploring the intersection of user experience, creativity, and technology.
My background includes working in fast-paced environments where I refined my ability to design intuitive interfaces, high-level brand identities, and engaging motion graphics. I’m passionate about creating user-centered design solutions that are both innovative and functional, always striving to align user needs with business objectives to deliver impactful outcomes.
I enjoy using a human-centered design approach, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and solving complex problems to make digital products accessible, visually appealing, and easy to use.
Outside of design, I’m dedicated to community initiatives that empower young girls and support the less fortunate. In my free time, you’ll often find me reading, exploring new technologies, or diving into design inspiration.

Graduate Assistant — Jacksonville State University
August '23 - Present
I provide technical support for office equipment and software applications to students in the design lab, ensuring smooth operation and accessibility of resources. Additionally, I assist undergraduate students who need guidance with project experimentation in UX/UI and interactive media, fostering an environment conducive to learning and creative exploration. My role also includes coordinating logistics, scheduling, and preparing department equipment to support academic activities efficiently.
To streamline departmental processes, I designed and refined an app that simplified the scheduling and reservation of equipment for students. This app was projected to increase patronage in the department by up to 9% while making it easier for students to manage their projects and access necessary resources.

Interactive Content & Dev. Lead — Adinkra Ino-V8
April '19 - April '23
At Adinkra Ino-V8, I oversaw all design content for production, encompassing motion graphics, branding, graphic design, and video projects. This role included coordinating and managing content streams throughout the pre-production and production phases, as well as preparing all on-site materials for post-production. I also developed and managed the company’s website and led a team of young creatives, fostering a collaborative environment that supported innovative solutions.
Strategizing the creation and distribution of interactive media content for clients was a key responsibility. I researched and designed user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and iterated on mobile and web applications to ensure effective and engaging user experiences. Additionally, I combined various colors, shapes, and typography to enhance UX and contributed to front-end development by strategizing and building responsive websites, micro-websites, and captive portals using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
My role extended to writing well-structured, testable, and efficient code by adhering to best software development practices. I also integrated data from various back-end third-party platforms to support seamless interactions and functionality. The scope included designing industry-leading brand communications, producing visually compelling content, and conceptualizing and executing impactful marketing campaigns.
Animation and motion design were integral aspects of my contributions; I used After Effects to animate motion graphics and micro-interactivity elements. These skills, along with expertise in user interface design, visual design, UX, and brand identity development, allowed me to create comprehensive, user-centric solutions that elevated the overall digital experience.
